Dear Protégés,
We discussed:
* Forgiveness – even for those who are unworthy
* Why is it so difficult to forgive and stop clinging to past hurts
* Forgiving our parents
* Forgiving ourselves
Our forgiveness is only truly authentic when we can forgive those who don’t deserve to receive it. It’s easy to forgive those who are truly sorry. Our greatest challenge lies in forgiving those who are not repentant.
The question is not whether a person is worthy or not. The question is whether your heart is ready or not.
The truth is no one is worthy. Everybody has flaws, weaknesses. Everybody has done things they regret. Everyone has gone astray. No one can say they are absolutely pure.
When your meditation brings you to a state of total love, you will forgive out of your abundance, out of your love, out of your compassion. In fact, the unworthy person needs our forgiveness more. The moment we can forgive our enemies we become free of them. Otherwise enmity is a kind of relationship.
Forgiveness does not mean we condone the person’s acts. It does not mean they should not go to prison or be punished in some way. Nor does it mean we have to spend time with them or even see them. It means that we can encompass them in our hearts and wish them well. The more our hearts are full of love, and the anger and hate is released, the more free we are to live our best life.
Start living in the present, and you will be able to stay in the positive. Awareness knows only the present. To be free from past and future is to taste freedom.
Life is love. The only life of prayer, peace, gratitude and splendor.
Love and blessings,
Pragito
