FOCUS
Defining Focus
How come we are so easily distracted?
How can we eliminate inner clutter?
Your authentic self
Overcoming failure/rejection
Focus is a quality you can bring to any activity, a quality of relaxed alertness, of presence, of clarity of mind and creativity.
How come we get distracted?
Because we are full to overflowing with mental clutter, emotional turmoil and physical stress and it IS difficult to stay focused.
How to eliminate inner clutter? Expressive meditation techniques
are ideally suited for this. For example the gibberish technique
allows you to dump out mental overload, physical and emotional
stress and leaves your mind fresh and uncluttered. The laughter
and tears technique is great for releasing emotional turmoil resulting in calm, peace and a better ability to focus.
Underneath all the clutter lies your true authentic self, your natural abilities. This is the part of you that finds focus easy. Your authentic self knows what you are naturally good at and therefore where you can find success in life. Once you know your true purpose and keep your focus on it, then the “how” will unfold. Overcoming failure/rejection becomes easier because we are so strongly connected to our passion and purpose.
We continue to do our due diligence in terms of research, sales and marketing and so on, but ultimately, when we keep our imagination focused on our target, the universe will support us to bring it into a reality. This is the magic of focus!

Pragito

Death: The Greatest Fiction
The fall cross-quarter days
Death – the greatest mystery in life
Fear of death
Facing death
The ultimate freedom
“You are so much afraid of death and you are already dead. You are afraid because you have not lived. You have been missing life, and death is coming. When you are really living there is no fear of death. When death comes you will be so sensitive to it that you will enjoy it. It is going to be a great experience. If you can even live death, if you can even be sensitive to your dying body as you are withdrawing to the center and dissolving, if you can live even this, then you have become deathless.”
--Osho
The fall cross quarter days have been recognized for millennia as a time to honor our ancestors and the people who have passed over to the mysterious “other side”. This time of year the veil between life and death is at it’s thinnest. The liminal nature of this time – in between light and dark, life and death - is a perfect time for
introspection and meditation
Death is the greatest mystery in life. From the very beginning of life we know that death is coming. Life and death are deeply involved with each other. They are not two. Life is growing. Death is the ultimate flowering of life. The river of life comes between birth and death.
Death comes in many ways. Each moment something dies and something is born. Why the fear of death? We have been programmed by politicians and religions that death is bad. That is how we have been controlled. This has created, therefore, a fear of life, and a fear of love. In fact, all our fears stem from our fear of death.
Death is not the end. In existence, nothing begins and nothing ends. Just look around: the evening is not the end, nor is the morning the beginning. The morning is moving towards the evening and the evening is moving towards the morning. Everything is simply moving into different forms. There is no beginning and there is no end. Human beings have created their own hell around death.
Facing death, facing our fears, brings us the greatest freedom. It is through meditation that the greatest mystery of life is revealed to us. Once we understand death, then we are free.

FRIENDLINESS
Tonight we discussed:
Friendship and friendliness
Two types of friendship
Relationships and relating.
Love as a state of being.
Friendship implies a dependence on another person. It also has a limited feeling because usually we are only in friendship with a few people. Friendliness, on the other hand, is vast. It is a quality inside of us and is not dependent on one particular person. Friendliness is your love shared unconditionally with the whole of existence. Friendship and friendliness do not mean the same thing. Friendship, at any moment can become it’s opposite – the friend can turn into an enemy. But friendliness has no particular address – it is for everybody. It can never turn into it’s opposite. Friendliness is your very nature.
There are two types of friendship. One is friendship in which you are a beggar – you need something from the other person to help your loneliness. And the other person is also a beggar – he wants something from you. So the begging is multiplied. The other kind of friendship, the other kind of love, has a totally different quality. It is not of need, it is of sharing. You give out of your fullness. And the more you Share, the more you give, the more you have.
The word love can have two different meanings. One meaning is love as relationship; the other meaning is love as a state of being. Love in a relationship can turn into hate – and then hate is also a relationship. Love as a state of being is a totally different word. It means you are simply loving; you are not creating a relationship out of it. It simply shares. And in sharing also there is no desire for any reward. The sharing itself is the reward. Then it carries something of the divine.

Celebration
Historical perspective
Depression
Guilt
Effects of the priests and the politicians
Enjoyment and celebration have to be nourished
Celebration heals depression, guilt, misery and brings joy, purpose, and wisdom.
One major reason for depression becoming so widespread is that in modern times we have not learned how to respond when things go wrong in our lives. Many take medications as the solution. As the epidemic increases, this is not always the best answer. The problem may look emotional or situational but deep down it is existential. Many people are looking for new ways of thinking, feeling and living. Anti-depressants are not a long term remedy. But expressive meditations are. They provide a radical transformation of the mind-body-spirit. They get rid of depression at the physical, emotional and existential level. Not only that, they fill the empty space with new, positive and creative energy that will take us on a real high which imbibes the “low” as it’s intrinsic part.
No renunciation. Just add one thing to your life: meditation.
There are many techniques to choose from. There are over 150 in my book “Lunchtime Enlightenment”. The problem is big but the solution is very simple.
Let It Be Meditation Technique
Allow the depression to be there. Do not judge yourself for being depressed or that makes it worse. Allow it to be there and it will pass.
One of the ultimate laws of life: life uses the opposite as a teacher, as a background. If we fight our emotions we make them worse. They are there for a reason. They have something to tell us. Allow them, and they will pass.
Over time you learn to imbibe the highs and the lows, understanding that they are both part of live.

Forgiveness
Dear Protégés,
We discussed:
* Forgiveness – even for those who are unworthy
* Why is it so difficult to forgive and stop clinging to past hurts
* Forgiving our parents
* Forgiving ourselves
Our forgiveness is only truly authentic when we can forgive those who don’t deserve to receive it. It’s easy to forgive those who are truly sorry. Our greatest challenge lies in forgiving those who are not repentant.
The question is not whether a person is worthy or not. The question is whether your heart is ready or not.
The truth is no one is worthy. Everybody has flaws, weaknesses. Everybody has done things they regret. Everyone has gone astray. No one can say they are absolutely pure.
When your meditation brings you to a state of total love, you will forgive out of your abundance, out of your love, out of your compassion. In fact, the unworthy person needs our forgiveness more. The moment we can forgive our enemies we become free of them. Otherwise enmity is a kind of relationship.
Forgiveness does not mean we condone the person’s acts. It does not mean they should not go to prison or be punished in some way. Nor does it mean we have to spend time with them or even see them. It means that we can encompass them in our hearts and wish them well. The more our hearts are full of love, and the anger and hate is released, the more free we are to live our best life.
Start living in the present, and you will be able to stay in the positive. Awareness knows only the present. To be free from past and future is to taste freedom.
Life is love. The only life of prayer, peace, gratitude and splendor.
Love and blessings,
Pragito

TRUST
Dear Protégés,
Trust is the foundation of life. Our very existence is built on an innate reliance that the essentials of life will be provided.
Last night we discussed:
Trust is not in someone else, it is not a relationship. Trust is a quality in you. It is tremendously powerful. Focus on growing trust as a quality of your being. In order to become more trusting it is important to understand the mind. The mind creates constant duality and separation. Trust arises from the heart and it knows no division between you and me, between you and life. Trust is an explosion of love. Even if we have been deceived, hurt, robbed, we still have a CHOICE to close down into mistrust, or to keep our hearts open to trusting. People are innately good. In any given situation, most people will do the right thing. Unfortunately, there are always a few who will lie, cheat, steal. We cannot allow those few to influence how we view the rest of humanity. We must gather courage, keep trusting because trust fills our hearts with joy and love.
Trust is not the same as belief. Belief is an idea. Belief is from the mind and is in a certain idea or philosophy. It can be proved with logic. Don’t believe in ideologies and then a great trust explodes, a trust in existence itself, in the trees, stars, flowers, in all that is. Belief divides people and many violent wars have been fought in the name of a belief or ideology. Trust unites us.
Trust is not the same as faith. Faith carries a promise with it. For example, many religions teach if you have faith you will go to heaven, you will be rewarded in the hereafter. Faith is simple, emotional, sentimental. Belief is more rational, it has arguments to repress doubt. Trust carries no promise in it. Trust simply is.
How can we trust more in relationships? We must understand ourselves and our conditioning. Most religions condemn sex. We then feel guilty. This creates havoc in the relationship. We might also have been taught that men “are out for all they can get” or that women are “a possession for a man to dominate”. Have a deeper look inside yourself with compassion. Only when we can face a person fully in the present moment, with no past baggage, can we truly trust and love. We can unlearn the past conditionings with meditation techniques, with hypnotherapy. Then you are free to be in the present moment and your life becomes a benediction, a dance, a celebration. If this can happen for me, it can happen for you too.
